Almost There

Image
The weeks have been flying by. There's only 7 days till I get to the actual field. Everyday is the Same, with the Same schedule. Food has been starting to repeat. Tuesday was last P-day. We went to the temple and did endownments again. Even though it was the Same as last week the experience was still super cool. We spent the rest of the trip in the celestial room. We also went back to the hidden store, bought a few trinkets. Later in the night we had our Sunday devotional. This one was snazzy, we had a general authority talk. His name is Shawn Douglas. It was about missionary work. The cool thing was that he used the spirit to talk. He ripped up his talk and just taught with what the spirit wanted to say. It was really cool. On Wednesday we got our flight plans. It's a 9 hour flight from México city to Buenos Aires. Then either a bus ride or different flight to Córdoba. Class was different we spent most of the time talking to the latino missionaries to better our Spanish. It wa...

2 Weeks Left

The weeks are getting faster. Waking up at 6:30 feels sort of normal. This is the longest I have been without family. Lowkey crazy to think about Tuesday was awesome. It was our P-day, and when it is P-day you get to go to the temple. We got to do endowments in the temple. Most everybody fell asleep because they couldn't understand what the video was saying. Also having to talk in Spanish after was cool. We also checked out the visitor center. Never seen a visitor center that big before. There's so many cool colorful rooms. It was like walking through a museum. We also found a hidden store in a hole in the wall. Bought some cool trinkets. We also watched a live devotional of Uchtdorf talking at the provo MTC. Wednesday was sad. Our Spanish teacher was leaving because she had family problems at home. We didn't find out till our Spanish class later that night. We had a sub named Hermano Hernandez. He is not what we are used to. My district thinks he is a bit fruity but we don...

Week 2 the MTC

This week flew by really fast. Everyday I am here it gets faster and faster. Still not used to getting up at 6:30 every morning, I'll get it eventually. This was our first real week with our actual schedule. Tuesday was last Pday. We went to the temple and did baptisms for the dead in Spanish, Same with initiatories and confirmations. Definitely was a different experience with it in Spanish. After we sat in the celestial room for a bit to read the book of Mormon and think about our questions. The bus ride back was super long. If you have ever been to Mexico city then you know the traffic is worse then anywhere in the United States. Sadly on the way back we hit school traffic. Which means all the schools get out, and there's double the cars on the road. We lowkey just slept through the whole thing. Wednesday was back to our normal schedule. For lunch we had tacos al pastor, and they were delicious. I had about 8 of them. I was the only one on the table who was eating them. In Sp...

I Made It!

Date:  October 8, 2024 at 8:54:10 AM MDT Subject:   I Made It This week has been eventful. Plane landed in Mexico city on Thursday night. Got to the CCM around 7 after a 2 hour bus drive through traffic. Met my companion who is as tall as me and is super cool. His name is Elder Daines Had a few classes Thursday night about getting started. Those were some super slow classes. When Friday rolled around, we got out of bed at 6:30. we dragged our butts to more meetings super early in the morning. I think I fell asleep in each class. After the boring meetings we had gym time. We thought outdoor basketball would be fun. Turns out nobody knows how to play basketball in my district, but this 5'4 shooting guard named Elder Carter scored every point. They told us no contact while playing sports during our meeting about gym time. Clearly nobody could play defense and it was more of a wrestling match. My companion got body slammed like a bunch. When night rolled around we went to a meet...
