Dogs, and there lincoln logs

Boy do I hate dogs. If you didn't know one of my biggest fears is dogs. Back at home I was constantly chased by them, bitten a few times. Other than that I think I'm getting better at this missionary work.

In Argentina every person owns about 3-5 dogs, I have yet to see a family not own a dog. There's also dogs that don't have owners on the streets, they are everywhere. When you walk by they stand up, start barking, then growl, and last but not least they run up to you and smell your calves. Usually after they walk away, but some go in for a bite. My comp and I almost got bit 4 times this week. One thing you can do to avoid dogs is crouching down and act like your picking up a rock. They see this, get scared, and run away back to where they were sleeping. Dogs know that when you perform that action they are gonna get hit by a rock, and it makes them scared. We were walking and saw this dog run up to a house and start fighting with another dog through a gate. The owner of the house ran and kicked the gate and the dog ran across the street. Next thing you know the owner grabs this huge rock and chucks it at the dog, it absolutely domes the dog, literal headshot. The dog fell down like it was knocked out. We came back later and the dog was chillin.
Another crazy thing here is the landmines the dogs plant, there Lincoln logs. If your not careful your stepping in at least 7 poops. It's nasty. How am I doing? Well my feet are slowly getting better. I did discover this new friend on my foot, I named him Pablo. He is a blister about as Big as my big toe. And he lives on the back of my heel. He doesn't hurt so I think he is just here for the ride. Other then that I haven't found a scale to weigh me, and my comp isn't tall enough to measure me. I'm slowly getting used to the work, days are starting to go by faster and faster. I'm still holding strong. Everybody is saying that I will be a trainer once I'm done training. Because of how cracked I am. I think I could once I completely understand what the people are saying.
Let's get into my week

Monday: nothing special just the classic P-day, slept and talked to fam. Bought all the stuff we needed and we bought a bunch of extra snacks for me, they didn't last long. We also got ice cream, there ice cream is cracked here. So good

Tuesday: me and my comp were trumpets. Every 5 steps or so we would pass some gas, and they were not quiet. We also had blitz interchanges, which is a few missionaries come to our area and we all split up to find more people. I got switched to Elder Robinson a fellow gringo from Ogden. We had no success but it was super fun. Met this guy named Juan Pablo, he wanted us to come over and teach him, we got his info and walked an hour and 15 minutes to his house and he wasn't even there. So we walked an hour and 15 mins back.

Wednesday: Started off with district council, talked numbers and business. After got treats at a bakery. Also had a wedding today. This is a super good thing because now we can baptize there while family. It was between. Fernando and Monica. It is super different from how they do marriages in the states. We went to there house afterwards and ate bomb asado, it was amazing. There drinks here are also super carbonated and it hurts the throat but tastes so good.

Thursday: nothing special. Just walking. We visited Juan Pablo again, wasn't home. Talked to another family about getting married so that we can baptize them. They are currently thinking about it, but we did get permission to baptize there son.

Friday: all we did today was walk. All of our appointments fell, no successful contacts. We did find these members that are new, that moved from Orem Utah. So now we get more member lunches.

Saturday: found a guy named Christian. Can't tell if he is a girl or a boy. We taught him about the gospel. He loved it, he wants to learn a bunch more. Today we were also inviting everyone to come to church on Sunday because it was stake conference.

Sunday: the problem here in Bialet Massé is when you baptize someone they don't go to church afterwards. The reason why is because they dont have money to buy them bus tickets, so our church attendance numbers are on the low. Plus today it was stake conference an hour away in a different chapel. We convinced the president to get us a bus for the conference for the people. And it was free so they didn't have to pay. We got about 20 members and 7 non members to go to conference with us. We got there and had the conference. There was also 9 companionships there. It was fun talking and catching up with them.

I apoligize for the time. There is a 4 hour time difference between here and Utah. So when I send out my email it's 8am here, but 4am in Utah. Please send me emails. I live reading them, your stories and updates on how familys are doing. My email is Tiago.fuller@missionary.org. don't be scared to send me one. I love you all, and miss you all. ADIOS AMIGOS.

( if all goes well I get to baptize 5 people this week on Friday)
