Full Steam Ahead

Happy December everybody. This week was pretty chill. I think I am almost used to the mission. Days don't seem that long, the work is getting easier. The one thing that sucked this week was how tired I was. For some reason I was slowly falling asleep at the members houses, and I have no clue why.

Had my first baptism this week on Saturday. His name is Fernando. I was gonna a baptize him, but then he asked my companion to baptize him. Little disappointed, but still happy because it's my first. After the baptism we gave him the priesthood, so that he can baptize the rest of his family on Saturday this week. But on Friday I get to baptize Fabrizio, he's 9 and he asked me to baptize him. very exciting. One thing that's I can't stop thinking about is tranfers. It's only 2 weeks away, and I am hyped to get a new comp. I love my comp now, I've gotten used to him and his ways. But we had intercambios this week, and for some reason I had an absolute blast with the other Elder. One last thing, the weather here is in shambles. It can't decide what it wants to be. What I mean is, one day it's pouring nonstop and is pretty cold, and the next it's the hottest it's ever been. Then it's back to rain the next day. It's also weird how fast it gets cold here. When the sun goes behind the clouds, you need a winter coat to stay warm. One last thing, I added oreos into my diet. Now everyday I eat cereal, carne, and oreos. They are dirt cheap here, and it's the only treat that is in America and Argentina.

Anyways let's get into the week

Monday: Sadly because of the Rain, me and my comps plans fell through. We were planning on hiking to the top of the mountain with a guy we are teaching named Nahuel (the father of Fabrizio) so I got the extra sleep I needed, wrote some emails, and talked to the fam. We had a haircut scheduled for me but again because of the Rain it got cancelled. For work that night we talked to graniela. We probably talked for an hour answering questions and teaching her everything we needed to. Walk home sucked because it was pouring, the umbrella and my coat weren't doing much

Tuesday: The normal happened today. Worked, worked, worked. We put our main focus today on Fabrizio. He Does not pay much attention at all, he would much rather want to do other things. We taught him the word of wisdom. And it went in one ear and straight and out the other. I think we taught it to him 5 times. It finally stuck. His dad, nahuel has been trying to leave smoking, he has already left alcohol and drugs. All the kids have been asking me what there name is in English, like every kid. Also tried to dunk in my church shoes and almost ripped a hole in them, but I still grabbed rim.

Wednesday: Started the day off with a bus ride to Cosquin for district council. We talked numbers and had lessons and practices. Our numbers were by far the best, they were all green. After the district council we had intercambios. I stayed with District leader Elder Ponce in Cosquin. Elder ponce is 25 years old and is from Nicaragua. We had a lot of fun. I got to see how differently other missionaryies work. He works completely differently then Elder Maia. And his area was quadrupled the amount of houses we have. We ended the night off with some ice cream. They ice cream is super super good here.

Thursday: THANKSGIVING. This day was lowkey slow. We woke up to a message from the mission president, saying we could call our parents today. It was awesome to talk to them and the rest if the family they were with. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because of the food, and the games you play. Sadly they don't celebrate it here. We did get this super nice lunch with the stake president. I ate like it was Thanksgiving. Whatever it was I ate about 4 plates and 2 ice cream bars. I got the food part of Thanksgiving, but sadly not the games, also got to check my weight today. I gained 4 pounds over this month. I am now 175 pounds.

Friday: we started off with a movie with some members. It was about jospeh smiths life, from the time of his birth to the time of his death. The members were super interested in the movie, I almost fell asleep during it, but I managed to stay awake. Later that night we had another lesson with Fabrizio. We figured out that if we draw with him while we teach, he will pay attention. Our plan worked perfectly. We got to teach him all that we needed to, and it all stuck in his head. When we arrived at the pension we witnessed a miracle. We got a call from Fernando. He told us over the phone, I'm ready to get baptized, and I wanna do it Saturday. We asked which Saturday. He said tomorrow. We freaked out and were rushing around the house all that night trying to get the stuff set up.

Saturday: We were rushing around setting everything up for Fernando's baptism. He asked Maia to baptize him. He had a cast and we wrapped that thing up so it wouldn't get wet. We made it through everything and we put him under the water. He loved it. He wants to baptize his 2 kids and his wife next week. To celebrate we ate empenadas. Empenadas are super good, they are one of my favorites. Later that night we had a Noche de Hogar with the Castillos again. This time it was just tea and crumpets. I don't like Matte it's literally just grass and water. It dose['t even look consumable. People drink it here like it's going out if style.

Sunday: schedule change today. Everything gets moved back 30 minutes due to summertime. We now get up at 7 and go to bed at 11. We had to replan our whole week because of this change. All the missionaries are saying that this schedule is much better then the other. At church we confirmed Fernando a member of the church, then after gave him the priesthood. We set our goals for the week. We are mainly putting our focus on the baptisms this week. So Fernando's family and Fabrizio. We showed both of them a video about Agency. It was a super cool video that explains it perfectly.

That's about it for the week. I hope all you guys are enjoying the weather wherever you guys be in the world. Don't be afraid, send me some emails at Tiago.fuller@missionary.org. if you have more family or friends that want to receive my emails, don't be afraid to send them to me.
I Love you all.
