Witches, Dark Spirits and Jesus's Girlfriend

This week was full of surprises! We ran into some witches, dark Spirits, and even the girlfriend of Jesuschrist!

Witches
We're teaching this family right now of witches! We passed by with David (overpowered member) to see if these people have interest. During the lesson, David whispered to us that they are a family full of witches! We were a little confused, because David has nevr met this family in his life! We shrugged that phrase off and scheduled another appointment! The next time we passed, she asked us to see her magic broomstick!!! She was also cooking up some stew, that was literally neon green, and smoking! Definently a Witch, David was right.

Dark Spirit
We were walking one day, and we knocked this door, that was hidden behind a few houses. A girl answered, and told us to come inside instantly and help her! We passed, and sat down with her and her husband! The first thing she said was "let me tell you about my husband" she then started blabbing, about all the bad stuff, and problems he has! She even said at the end, that he's possessed by an Evil spirit, and that she can feel the Devil holding him back! At first glance, her husband just seemed depressed. We taught them about the joy of christ, and scheduled another lesson, to come give the house a blessing, and also her husband!

We passed by the next day ready to bless the crap out of the house, and this possessed man! We sat and talked to the husband about what he likes to do for fun! We got him laughing, and talking about his life! When his wife left the room to go do something, he told us that he is perfectly happy how he is, and that he is not possessed! He also told us he doesn't show his happiness, to anyone! And that the thing that annoys him the most, is his wife trying to get him to join a church, and believe in God! We were surprised, but we didn't have to give anyone, or anything the blessing!

Jesus's girlfriend
We contacted this middle aged woman the other day, who's in love with Jesus! We started talking about the atonement of christ to her! She cut us off and said "I know everything about Jesus! I love him so much, I'm the girlfriend of Jesus!" Right then when she said that my comp and I wanted to laugh, but we held it in! We scheduled a time to pass by her house and teach her more!

When we passed by her house, we started teaching her about the gospel of Jesus Christ! Her mom then showed up and instantly made the spirit leave. She told us that she is God, and that her church is inside her body! Jesus's girlfriend instantly turned to her and said "NO YOUR NOT!! I'm not dating my mom." After that comment we lost it, we started dying laughing to the point where we were crying!! One of the best moments of the week!!

Baptism
The other best moment of the week was the 2 baptisms we had on Sunday! We had the opportunity to baptize Luis and Isabel! They are literal walking GOATS! They were a little concerned about paying tithing, but in the end they were willing to pay it! There daughter and granddaughter are getting baptized next week!!

Spiritual Thought
Alma 32:16
16 Therefore, blessed are they who humble themselves without being compelled to be humble; or rather, in other words, blessed is he that believeth in the word of God, and is baptized without stubbornness of heart, yea, without being brought to know the word, or even compelled to know, before they will believe

It's crazy to think that the next email I send out, I'll be 19! My birthday is  on Sunday!!! I hope you all have a ton of success this week, I love you all! Here's my email is you want to send my a happy birthday on Sunday, or a cool message!
I hope you can all be happy!
Peace out my ninjas 🥷🥷🥷🥷🥷🥷

Just wanted to share my blog post about one aspect of trek:

In February, Ben and I were called to be Ma and Pa for our stake pioneer trek.  When we got the text that the Bishop wanted to meet with us, we both had the thought that it would be about trek, and felt that we should accept the call.   On the walk home, I began to wonder if I would even be able to do it.  My spirit was willing, but my flesh was weak.

About 9 years ago I started to have a lot of hip pain.  I did three rounds of physical therapy, tried needling (a form of acupuncture), and had several steroid injections to help with the pain, but nothing helped.  I had an MRI and found out that I have labral tears in both hips.  The next step for me is hip replacement, but without health insurance, we can't afford the procedure.  I've been dealing with the pain the best I can, but I wondered how I could possibly walk 29 miles in 4 days.

To prepare for trek, Ben and I started walking about 2 miles a day.  As the days and weeks passed, I started to get more worried.  Just walking 2 miles was often very painful.   I had to remind myself that if the Lord wanted me on Pioneer Trek, he would strengthen me to the task, a principle I had learned from scripture, and through previous experience.

The apostle Paul wrote about a "thorn in the flesh" that he was struggling with.  He said he was buffeted (knocked off course) by Satan.  He prayed 3 times to the Lord to make the "thorn" depart from him. In 2 Corinthians 12:9  Paul wrote:  And He (the Lord) said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”  Later, in Philippians 4:13: Paul testified,  "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."  In Ether 12:27:  We learn that we are given weakness to make us humble.  If we humble ourselves and have faith in Christ, He will make our weak things become strong.

Ben was also dealing with some physical challenges.  His surgically repaired knee had been bothering him and he had strained some tendons in his hand.  Not only would walking be painful, but pushing or pulling the handcart would too.   I  wondered if maybe a different couple would be a better choice for ma and pa.

I didn't sleep much the night before trek.  Just laying in bed, my hip was hurting, how was I going to sleep on a foam mattress on trek, when I struggled to sleep on my own bed at home?  But it was too late to step aside, we were doing this.

On the first day, we trekked about 12 miles up and down hills, pulling the handcart on uneven ground.  It was hot and tiring and we were all pretty miserable, but my hip miraculously was okay and the pain didn't keep me awake during the night.  Ben's knee held up really well too.

Day 2 we went 13 miles, which included activities and dancing at the ho-down.  Remarkably, my hip pain was bearable and Ben's knee was doing pretty well.  I slept well that night.

Day 3 was another miraculous 9 mile day including a women's pull up a fairly steep hill for nearly a mile.  At one point I was in a lot of pain on the women's pull, but the pain subsided soon after and I was able to continue just fine.

Day 4 we did about 4 miles.

In all, including walking back and forth to the porta potties, getting water, walking to devotionals, walking to get food and to the medical tent, the dancing and activities, we went 50 miles in 4 days, and my hip hurt less than when I walked 2 miles at home. Ben had brought knee braces with him, but didn't feel like he needed to use them at all on trek. It was truly a miracle!

I testify that Christ's grace is sufficient.  He didn't take the pain away completely, but He strengthened me to the task, He eased the burden, He prepared a way for me to accomplish the thing He wanted me to do.  His enabling power got me through trek.
