A Week Full of Events!
This week was absolutly full of events and activitys! Because of these events the week went flying by.
Leadership Conference
This week we had another leadership conference. I enjoyed this one a lot better then the last one because this one was in person. One thing I really liked about it was that it felt like a Zone confernce but with all the boys!
They had us present a couple of the numbers of the zone and what we were going to do to get better. We focused a lot on helping the missionarys develop more christlike love for the people and the missionary work. I learned a lot of cool new ways from other zone leaders on how to teach, baptize, and fond new people.
Pte Rhea really focused on how we can get better at working with the members. We set a goal as a missionary to find at least 2 people every week from references.
Sports Activity
Every week we have a open invite sports Activity. Normally nobody shows up, but this time there were a ton of kids.
We had a meeting with the leaders about the mission work, our weekly coordination meeting. When Leo, a cool 19 year old member ran into the room screaming and asking us for help. When we saw this we all freaked out. We were all confused on what could have happened. We ran outside to find about 30 kids arguing over the court. Half the kids wanted to play soccer and the other half basketball.
I wanted to play basketball so we decided to split the court in half. One half soccer, the other basketball. The kids agreed and we started playing ball. Elder Walker and I started Balling out, taking down these college kids.
General Conference
This week also had general Conference. Sadly this is my last one in the mission, so revelation was flowing. I learned a ton about keeping our temple covenants and about future Covenants. The best part about the conference is that we had a couple of our friends with baptismal dates that watched it and really loved it.
My favorite talk was the one about enduring to the end = Christlike love for the people. Its the talk by Elder Bednar. It really stood out to me because I have been trying to work on charity a lot these past few transfers, and this talk really helped me!
Spiritual Thought
Alma 7:11-12
11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.
12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.
