Back at it Again!!
Had another complicated week... It started off really well, and I was super hyped. By the end we started back at 0. Its normal it happens all the time, but we will get them this week.
Zone conference
This week we had Zone Conference. The Aps asked me to conduct the meeting. If was a really good conference. President asked us to all write a talk about an attribute of Christ we want to improve. And that he will call on random people to give their talks. Luckily I didnt get called on.
Most of the talks were about Charity and Patience, which are 2 really important attributes of Christ. I felt impressed to write a talk about Obedience. In the end President came in and started sharing about the sacredness of our calling and how we need to have respect for everybody. He also talked to us a little about finding through the members.
Overall it was a W conference. Sadly I only have 2 more to go.
Sunday Talk
This week they assinged me to talk about retention in church. I focused on the service aspect. Lets just say while I was writing the spirit was cooking. It was probably the best talk I have ever written.
I talked about that I have learned a ton of things on the mission, but the 3 that stood out to me the most was
1. Small and Simple Things
2. Obedience with exactness
3. Holy Ghost.
I shared a couple of expiriences that I and other people have had with these 3 points. (Qyntn, I shared your lost grocery store story!)
Overall the members really enjoyed the talk. And now they all have the urge to put forth more effort in the church.
Micaela and Lourdes
Put 2 Baptismal dates 2 weeks ago, and they were going to get baptized yesterday. Sadly we recieved a text from the mom saying that she doesn't feel ready to get baptized and that she going through to much stuff. It was really rough hearing that come out of her mouth, it really made us sad. We couldn't stop thinking about it. We always were thinking what could we have done differently.
In the end we realized that we planted a really good seed and that she'll get baptized in the future!
De la Cruz
We found this guy last week named De La Cruz, its a really cool name! He talked about how hes collecting supply to take to Tucuman to help the people. Apperently there was a massive storm that blew in and flooded entire neighborhoods and people lost everything. He decided to start collecting supplys to take to them.
We figured out that he may be a little bit of a scammer. He mentioned something about how about 1/2 of the supplys he gets, he sells them for money. So hes doing it out of love and money. We are going to see if the church wants to help.
Spiritual thought
Mosiah 2:4
4: And also that they might give thanks to the Lord their God, who had brought them out of the land of Jerusalem, and who had delivered them out of the hands of their enemies, and had appointed just men to be their teachers, and also a just man to be their king, who had established peace in the land of Zarahemla, and who had taught them to keep the commandments of God, that they might rejoice and be filled with love towards God and all men.
Shout out Tripp for getting his mission call. My bro be going to Brazil Manaous on August 26th. Dont worry, I'll get to see you before that!!
